The exact location of the historical camera station is difficult to locate, and therefore it is unknown if any of the shrubs in the foreground of the 1928 view are still alive. In the places where tents were erected and vehicles were parked, the vegetation is mostly Hymenoclea salsola (cheesebush), Ericameria cooperi (Cooper’s goldenbush). These sites are easily identified by the abundant wood in the area, preserved by the dry climate and lack of tourist access to the Nevada Test Site. The nearby undisturbed vegetation is dominated by Larrea tridentata (creosote bush), Coleogyne ramosissima (blackbrush), Grayia spinosa (hop-sage), Ephedra nevadensis (Mormon tea), and Lycium andersoni (Anderson wolfberrry).
