Most of the plants in 1981 are still present, and the individual Larrea plants are much larger in the 1999 view. Many new Ambrosia individuals are now apparent. These changes likely are the result of high precipitation in the intervening 18 years, not a recovery from past disturbances. (Dominic Oldershaw)
