| The building sites and roadways have largely revegetated, although the housepads are still apparent and trash litters the foreground. Although total cover is largely recovered, the species composition of the plant assemblage does not resemble nearby undisturbed sites. The single Larrea at right probably is a resprout of an individual harvested in 1906. The tailings pile at right center post-dates 1906, although it probably was created in mining operations in the vicinity that continued after the townsite was abandoned until about 1908. Bob Webb is standing in the approximate position of one of the miners in the 1906. (Raymond M. Turner) | ||
