| Greenwater had a maximum population of 2,000 residents, probably at about the time this photograph was taken. Several automobiles appear on the streets, possibly motor coaches that provided transport service to the nearby Tonopah and Tidewater Railroad. The transition in transportation is also evident by the freight wagon and team that appears in the center. Most of the houses in Greenwater were built of wood and the intention was to build a permanent town. However, the lack of profitable ore caused abandonment of the townsite by early 1908.
