This match was taken several hours after a motorcycle and rider made 200 passes down a fixed track. The camera station is about 30 cm from the original location. Soil compaction in the 200 pass track was nearly the same as nearby active roads, indicating a high level of compaction. The small table at left center is a rain-making device designed to measure infiltration rates, which were greatly decreased in the tracks. Although the course was set up to destroy as few shrubs as possible, several were destroyed, including a small Atriplex in the foreground, the stump of which is apparent on the edge of the track.
